Oceanside Beach Squirrels

During our recent trips to the beach we enjoy feeding the squirrels that live in the rocks along the shore.

The preferred snacks of the beach rock squirrel included dried cranberries, pita chips, carrots and almonds.

The ocean is truly beautiful and magnificent. I have the greatest respect for it. Especially since we know so little about its contents. Nevertheless, sand is not my friend.

I prefer the mountains, forests and clean running water to the beaches in southern California. However I do enjoy the diversity of nature where ever it may be. The beach would be perfect if not for sand. Did I mention I don't like sand? But I like to please my children. It makes them very happy to go to the beach. They don't mind the sand. The squirrels are fine with it as well.

Last time we were at the beach the waves were so powerful. I thought they were a bit intimidating. I'm not used to seeing waves over seven feet off our coast. And, the water was rough. All good days.

It was a lovely summer.
